This easy recipe is a great anytime recipe but especially late summer through winter months when apples are plentiful. This recipe is kid-friendly, gluten-free, and plant-based. Serve at your next gathering or enjoy it as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, cored and finely chopped (2 cups)

  • 1 medium pear, cored and finely chopped (2 cups)

  • 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds

  • 1/4 cup dates( pitted)

  • 3 tablespoons orange juice

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • optional: walnuts ( 1 cup or to liking)

  • optional: tortilla chips for serving

Directions

  • In a medium bowl add chopped apples, pear, and dates. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Serve with tortilla chips or eat as a snack or side.
