3 lbs roasted butternut squash *see notes below
2 tbsp butter or olive or avocado oil for dairy free option
1.5 cups chopped yellow onion
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/8 tsp or more ground cinnamon ( ceylon is a great healthy option)
6 cups of vegetable or chicken broth
toasted pumpkin seeds for garnish
drizzle heavy cram or dairy free option for garnish
